the little things that make a difference, little things like using a different wood and layering it among the laminates of the basic wood when building a stirrup. We call those laminates stripers. Stripers are a way to make sure your stirrups say “you” from every angle. What Finish Can I Pick?
--- The Stripers
Comanche Inlay with Stripers in a Flatbottom
How about a combo of stripes and inlay to flaunt stirrups with flair as seen in this 2 inch Flatbottom Mesquite stirrup? The Comanche inlay, which resembles the long headdress of an Indian Chief, explodes with the colors of several kinds of wood.
Two Purple Heart laminates settle comfortably amid the Mesquite laminates, an addition that makes the stirrups cry class from any angle.
Oak Striper in Wenge
This design offers a different concept, placing two pieces of laminates the same color side by side. Two oak laminates squeeze themselves on each side of the outer pieces of the stirrup, made of Wenge wood. The remaining two pieces of Wenge wood are then side by side in the middle and framed by the laminates of Oak for a nice pin-striped look.
Purple Heart Striper in Oak
One of the most striking exotic woods is the Purple Heart. To really bring out the color try custominizing the layers of Purple Heart in your Oak Stirrup. Oak is a great choice to use in striping since it provides an excellent contrast to any of the other woods: wenge (black), purple heart (burgundy) and walnut (dark brown.)
The Striper in Mesquite
Two Purple Heart laminates settle comfortably amid their Mesquite counterparts, an addition that makes the stirrups say “taste” from any angle. Choose your own wood to customize with the Mesquite layers. For example Mesquite Stirrups look great with a Wenge Stripes!
The Striper in Walnut
Choose an Exotic wood such as Walnut (dark brown), and add a bit of zing by changing the kind of wood in one of its layers – or maybe two of them! If your stirrup is made from Walnut, add an Oak Stripe for extra zing. Click on the picture to see all of your options. Available in 2 and 3 inch treadwidths.
The Exotic Wood Flatbottom stirrups are offered in 2" and 3" treadwidths. This stirrup is really popular with many reiners, ropers, and trail riders.
